What is Games Done Quick?

Games Done Quick is a bi-annual charity gaming marathon. Volunteers play games at incredible speed (“Speedrunning”) for entertainment. The event is streamed live online, non-stop, and all donations go directly to the charity. This is the winter event, with a summer event starting around July.

Can I attend Awesome Games Done Quick 2015?? Where does AGDQ 2015 take place? How can I register? Is there a registration cap?
Of course! Awesome Games Done Quick 2015 takes place in Herndon, Virginia at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport hotel. They were kind enough to offer a special low-price room package with breakfast included, so make any reservations with our special Awesome Games Done Quick promo code.

It’s highly recommended that all attendees check out the Games Done Quick forum on Speed Demos Archive, which is viewable here.

Registration for the event is done through the Games Done Quick website. Details on pricing, refunds, and payment methods can be found on our How to Attend page. Note that there is an attendee cap of 920 people. While we don’t expect to hit this cap, it’s important to register early in case we do approach it.

Attendance to a Games Done Quick event is open to the general public. You don’t need to be a speedrunner, and you don’t need to volunteer! However, there is a cost for attending. Read on for the steps to register.

What you get for registering
Signing up to attend this event costs $50.00 USD. In return, when you sign in with the registration desk at the event, you will receive a badge. The badge is valid for the entire event, including setup and bonus days (from January 3rd-13th, 2015). You are secured a spot for attending once you have paid.

Refunds will be available starting the week of December 1st, 2014, in your user profile. Refunds will typically be processed within 48 hours, depending on your payment method. Keep in mind, if you request a refund, you will give up your spot at the event, and may not be able to register again if the cap is met.

Refunds are cut off on December 22nd. Registrations after this date will cost an extra $10.00, for a total $60.00 USD. Make sure to register and pay before the 22nd to avoid paying an extra $10.00.

There is a cap for this event. If you do not sign up and pay for your registration before the cap is reached, you may not be able to attend! Exceptions may be provided on a case-by-case basis (with priority to runners and volunteers).
